I pride my school on being a personal and friendly school.

As a young dancer, I knew how important performing was. The excitement and thrill on a stage, the dazzling costumes and the roar of an appreciative audience put many a smile on my face, as well as a tear in my mum's eye. Because of this performing is a huge part of Stepping Out's calendar. Regular performances include the St Marys Charity pantomime in February, galas and festivals throughout the summer (including Beighton Gala, Heeley Festival, Aston Carnival, and  Killamarsh Festival just to name a few), and an end of year spectacular at the Montgomerty Theatre......... plus many more!

I believe performing increases confidence, builds friendships, and most important........... is FUN!!

I also recognise that as well performing some pupils also want to learn dance more intensely, therefore at Stepping Out we offer training for I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) examinations, exams are held approximately twice a year and are followed by a presentation evening and party in recognition of the dancers hard work.
These classes are taught more technically following the I.S.T.D syllabus concentrating more on time signature, pattern and direction, foot placement, body alignment and dance technique.
